These days not many people cherish the idea of going to flea markets for shopping. But almost everyone wants “thrifting and haggling”, getting things at unbelievably good prices. Human nature hasn’t changed, it is just that our lives have become so filled, so busy that we don’t get the time.

Solution: why not use apps? – Yes, there are any apps you can use for second hand trade in Europe.

We have reviewed many apps and we believe the following five to be the best in European markets.

Table of Contents

  • Shpock: The Shop in Your Pocket App
  • Wallapop: The Hyper-local App
  • Letgo: An App Made to Declutter
  • Depop: The Coolest App Around
  • Stuffle: The ‘Curated Markets’ App

Shpock: The Shop in Your Pocket App

Shpock is a funny name but it is a brilliant app. It has more than 3.000.000 installs. You can find the best items in your neighborhood and contact sellers immediately. The app is only the intermediary. No payment is made through the app. You have to contact the seller directly and make the purchase. If you are the seller, you just need to take a picture, choose a category, and put it up for sale. You can also search for items by location in addition to pricing and categories.

The app has a friendly interface and is very easy to use. Its simplicity makes it a compelling app. Also, you can download the app in the following languages: English, Croatian, French, German, Italian, Norwegian Bokmål, Serbian, and Swedish.

Wallapop: The Hyper-local App

Wallapop is a friendly app that is also ridiculously easy to use. It is completely free so you don’t have to pay any kind of subscription on any listing. All you have to do is take photos of your item, add location and pricing, and upload it. Wallapop is a very location-centric app. If you start scrolling down, you will start to see items that are further away from your location. To see the items closest to you, choose the items displayed at the top of the page.

This is a very neat feature that makes the app very convenient. You can download the app in a bunch of languages; English, Arabic, Basque, Catalan, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.

Letgo: An App Made to Declutter

Letgo is a brilliant app. It is easy to use like all the other apps listed here but it is unique in a way. To become a buyer or seller on this app, you need to have a verified account. This means that all your transactions are fully secure. Although you cannot pay through the app, verified users mean there is no security risk.

Other than the verification part, there is no hassle. You can use the app completely free. The app lists items that are good in price. Letgo is generally considered a marketplace where you can buy good items at cheap rates.

Depop: The Coolest App Around

Depop is a trendy app that shows us new fun ways to shop. It is titled Towards online buying and selling of vintage objects most commonly pieces of art although you could even include BlackBerry in there now. The most popular categories include vintage and luxury fashion, art, illustration, books, and records. Depop is more like a social media for buying and selling items. For example, you are not buying any item but you are looking to comment on a product or show appreciation.

When you do that, it will start showing on the website feed. This way “word” will get around. This is a very good way of being active in the second hand market. Even if you are not looking to buy anything specific, you can find great things on the spur of the moment and make an impulse buy – after all, that is what shopping is all about.

Stuffle: The ‘Curated Markets’ App

Stuffle is the most lightweight app on our list. It only needs about 13.5 MB to install. It won’t eat up your mobile’s battery. Stuffle is a specialized app for buying specific items more like a “curated market’. If you like classic cars and equitation items, you must try this app.

Stuffle provides you with two payment options: cash on delivery and PayPal. You can pay at your convenience through a method that is convenient for you.
